The Castle and gardens are open on Sundays Thursdays and Bank Holidays from Easter Sunday to the end of October.
2.30pm to 5.30pm last admission at 5pm.
Day Visits
We hope you will agree our prices are
very moderate compared to other attractions. We offer real value for
money.
Tours are free range, with information boards to read as you go
round.
Disabled Access
Disabled visitors are most welcome, but
wheelchair access is limited to the garden and ground floor of the
Castle only. Learn about the History, and if interested pieces of
armour can be brought down to try on. There is a wide, shallow
Jacobean staircase to the first floor, with a very wide banister
for visitors who can climb stairs, however slowly.
Facilities
We regret there are no longer
refreshment facilities for day visitors, but during weekdays
there are plenty of tearooms in the town.
Free parking for visitors in
the drive. Enter through Great Gateway, an exciting
approach.
